Chad Dzurka serves as West District Foreman for the Bay County Road Commission. He supervises the West District crew and coordinates the employees, equipment, and daily maintenance activities needed to serve the western portion of Bay County.
The West District is responsible for county roads in Beaver, Kawkawlin, Williams, Monitor, and Bangor townships. The district also performs maintenance on designated state highways under the Road Commission’s maintenance agreement with the Michigan Department of Transportation.
West District responsibilities include:

Performing snow and ice control operations

Repairing and maintaining paved and gravel roads

Grading road surfaces and maintaining shoulders

Performing drainage and culvert maintenance

Conducting roadside mowing, brush control, and debris removal

Responding to storm damage, roadway hazards, and other emergencies

Coordinating employees, vehicles, and equipment for daily assignments

Performing maintenance on designated MDOT state highways
In addition to the district foreman, the West District Garage has 14 employees who maintain approximately 401 miles of county roads and 175 lane miles of state highway.
